This project went unexpectedly smoothly, in my opinion. My group was myself, Madison, and Baruch. None of us have taken the class before this semester, so there's still a lot for us to learn, which made me wary that we'd be able to pull off this project on our own. We came up with a solid idea, scheduled the meeting time with Ms. Kenny, and got everything we needed together and to Ms. Kenny's office on time, which was a solid start to the project. We had Joey, who's more experienced, help us to set up the shot and lights, but other than that, we did everything else on our own. The clips turned out well, although the sound quality could've been better — there was some background white noise, which wasn't a big deal in the end. I think the only problem with the interview was that Ms. Kenny gave us so much material to work with that Baruch had a hard time cutting it down to time (although it is definitely much better to have too much material than too little material). Doing my stand-up was also a bit brutal in the wind and cold, since I was wearing a skirt, but it turned out well, so I'm glad it was worth it. For the stand-up, we actually didn't use any help (for camera set-up or filming) from other, more experienced students, or from Muench, and we worked out any problems on our own. Overall, I think this project turned out well, and was a good learning experience for all of us involved. I'm glad to see how far I've come in my knowledge of cinematography, cameras, and the software used.
